Tap the phone or camera icon at the top of any chat to call. Group calls have an adaptive grid, a highlight around the person speaking, mute indicators, and the option to add people while the call is running.
A call belongs to a conversation. Calling a group rings the whole group.
Video calls start on the loudspeaker and voice calls start on the earpiece. You can switch during the call.
The Calls tab lists your calls from every conversation, labelled with the other person's name.
When you start a call, everyone else in the conversation sees it ringing, as a full incoming-call screen or as a banner if they are using another part of the app. A call that is already running appears in the Calls tab as active with a Join button, so anyone who missed the ring can still join.

Controls include mute, camera on and off, front and back camera, speaker or earpiece, and hang up. In a one-to-one video call the other person fills the screen and you appear in a corner. In a group call everyone is shown in a grid that adapts as people join and leave, with a highlight around whoever is speaking and a badge on anyone who is muted. Chat stays available during the call because it is the same conversation.

Each call is saved as an entry: who took part, which conversation, voice or video, and when it started and ended. The Calls tab shows these entries.

A call is open to the members of the conversation it belongs to. The same rules that decide who can read a chat decide who can join its calls.
If you are not in the conversation, there is no call for you to join.
